Deep Sea Garoupa Supper

I was feeling ravenous earlier and decided to pop out for supper..

This is the Pothos at my front entrance, which is doing beautifully well. I thought it'd look quite nice in the house but apparently its poisonous to cats. The locals call it the 'Money Plant' but its actually a Pothos, one of the most versatile plants that'd grow in a huge variety of conditions. I housed this one in China Porcelain.

And this is me with my Lumix in the elevator. I've just finished half an hour on the treadmill and an hour at the weights, so its time to pile on more calories!

Yuan Wei Deep Sea Garoupa Stall is a short walk from home, and business hour is 5PM to 4AM.

They've even won an award from Singapore Best Foods, so its definitely worth a visit.

At the end of the shop, they've built a tank where they keep the live garoupa. They're huge (Just compare them to the guy sitting next to the tank)

There're two garoupas in the tank. Water is saline and kept at constant temperature of 22 degrees C by this chunky wall-mounted apparatus of sorts. There're also live oysters in tanks with saline at 8 degrees, as well as crabs.

Not very pretty to look at but I kind find it cute. They're apparently violent in nature too.

This is the menu showing the address and contact details.
Take a peek inside...

They serve braised peanuts while you wait for order to arrive. I've got a weakness for peanuts, especially if they're fried (the sort you serve with Nasi Lemak) I could eat jars of them...

This is Stir-fried Ee Fu Noodles with chives, mushroom and Deep sea garoupa meat. They're quite generous with the fish. You don't see much on this plate because the chunks of meat are hidden under the noodles. The dish is neither too oily nor salty and the fish meat is fresh with a firm bite to it.

This is Poached Spinach in Egg Trio Broth. Three types of eggs are used in this soupy dish: Century Eggs, Salted Eggs and Fresh Eggs.
